Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is a creative art which brings the charm and beauty of nature indoors. This year's demonstrating artist is started taking WAFU Ikebana in 1982,and devoted the last 27 years studying this art. Tova received her teaching certificate in 1988 and has been teaching since then. Today Tova holds the Wafu school's highest degree of Shukan.
The Wafu school emphasizes natural beauty and the harmony between the flowers, the vase and the environment. The vases that are mostly used in Ikebana are ceramic. Some times glass vases or baskets are being used.
Through the years Tova exhibited and demonstrated in numerous ikebana shows and
brought her art to many community events.
She will be conducting one demonstration on Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m. outside the entrance to the Palo Alto Art Center. Don't miss it. |
