The festival, co-sponsored by the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Danville, is now in its seventeenth year and attracts over 50,000 people every year to beautiful Hartz Avenue in downtown Danville-a city 40 miles east of San Francisco that's a mix of beautiful residences from the Gold Rush days along with magnificent homes of the future. Quaint Hartz Avenue is a natural for unique specialty shops and gourmet dining. During October, the weather is usually unpredictable.
Key ingredients to the success of this family event is the "home town" parade (Saturday, 10 a.m.), Safe Trick or Treating, a bigger and better Scarecrow Alley provided by members of the Bayhills Pony Club, a kids activity area sponsored by the San Ramon Valley Times and, of course, the high quality art and crafts being displayed by over 200 artisans.
This festival has approximately 60% contemporary and traditional crafts and 40% fine art. For a quick overview, check out this public service announcement created by Comcast.
Entertainment will be featured throughout the weekend along Hartz Avenue with our street corner concerts.
Again the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce has made arrangements for FREE festival shuttle service sponsored by Diablo Lodge. Park FREE in the Park & Ride at 680 and Sycamore Valley Road exit and take a leisurely ride to the festival. Shuttle service will run on Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For those wishing to park closeby, the Town of Danville will be offering unlimited parking in all city-owned parking lots and on all street curbside parking spaces.
